Semaphore Beach
Semaphore pairs a broad sandy beach and jetty with a long grassy foreshore and the shops and cafes of Semaphore Road. Choose it for a picnic, a beach walk or a sunset outing with places to eat nearby. Use signed public entrances along the Esplanade near the jetty precinct. Public toilets, parking, picnic areas and barbecues are listed. A coastal bike path also runs through the precinct. The foreshore has attractions such as the historic carousel and train rides; check individual operators for opening times and charges rather than assuming they run every day. Beach entry is free, with food and attractions charged separately. Check current beach conditions, use patrol flags when operating and follow the signs for dog access.
