Rapid Bay Beach

Rapid Bay sits below steep hills and cliffs, with a beach and newer public jetty beside the closed historic jetty. The coastal setting makes it worthwhile for a shore-based visit as well as experienced divers. Follow Finnis Drive to the public foreshore approach. The beach is unpatrolled and the water can deepen quickly. The old jetty is closed: vessels, divers and swimmers must stay out from beneath it and at least 20 metres away. Follow current signs around both jetties and plan any swimming or diving around your experience and conditions.
