Horseshoe Bay, Port Elliot
Horseshoe Bay is a curved sandy bay at Port Elliot, with a foreshore reserve, coastal walking tracks and views across the water. Access restrictions — checked 13 October 2026: damaged seawall sections are fenced off, and some beach stairs have been removed or closed. Stay outside exclusion zones and follow on-site directions. The photograph predates these works. Current council notice: https://www.alexandrina.sa.gov.au/discover/latest-news/horseshoe-bay-seawall Arrive at the public foreshore car park via The Cutting. The pin marks the car park beside Horseshoe Bay Reserve, not a route through the seawall works. Council identifies the current public boat ramp near the surf lifesaving club; check signs before using any route to the sand and keep clear of launching activity. A step-free route onto the beach is not confirmed. The reserve has picnic space, shelters, a playground, toilets, drinking water and a barbecue, with a café nearby. Beach entry is free; purchases are separate. Check current conditions and patrol flags before swimming.
