Chiton Rocks Beach
Chiton Rocks is a south-coast beach backed by a grassy bluff, with rocky features that distinguish it from neighbouring sandy stretches. The surf club provides a useful landmark for a beach walk or a visit to watch the waves. Start at the beach car park on Hindmarsh Esplanade beside the surf-club precinct and use the public beach crossing. The pin marks the arrival area, not a club booking or a promise of patrols. Rips can form between rocks: check current conditions and patrol flags before entering the water. Before visiting, check current beach advice and algal-bloom updates: https://www.algalbloom.sa.gov.au/ Photo 1: Vanguard Visions — CC BY 2.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/).
