Basham Beach / Ratalang
Basham Beach sits beside Ratalang’s coastal reserve between Middleton and Port Elliot. The Encounter Bikeway, open foreshore and picnic opportunities make it useful for combining a beach walk with time exploring the coast. Use designated paths from the Bashams Beach Road area and respect the dunes and cultural landscape. Southern right whales may be seen offshore during winter migration, but sightings are never guaranteed. Check beach conditions and keep a respectful distance from wildlife. Use the public car park at the coastal end of Basham Beach Road, then follow the marked reserve paths towards the beach. Keep to paths through the conservation reserve.
